At the heart of it all...

Diana treats each student as an individual - "All children are born persons" is a foundational principle in the Charlotte Mason philosophy - and she tailors her interaction with each student so that they feel at ease in the small group setting. She has experience of teaching teens of different ages, neurotypes, genders, and mental health requirements, and is passionate about expanding access to computer science to a wide range of home educated teenagers. If your teen thinks that computer science "isn't for them", she would love to persuade them otherwise!
​Diana knows that many home ed parents feel less confident with this type of GCSE level course and runs a free support group on Facebook for families who want to self-study the course without tutors. However if you would like your teen to study in a small group setting (but still in someone's home) this might be the perfect choice!

WHAT IS STUDYING WITH DIANA LIKE?

• All IGCSE and pre-IGCSE sessions are recorded in HD for the students to rewatch/catch-up.
• ​Classes and assignments are organised through a Google classroom. 
• Online classes use Google Meet, no account is required to join the session.
  
• Students (or parents on their behalf) need to be able to send and receive emails, they will need an email address for the Google Classroom and for the coding membership site.
• A primary level of maths is required for all classes.
• Previous programming experience isn't necessary, but some level of confidence using computers (typing, keyboard shortcuts, using a web browser) will help.
• A laptop/chromebook/tablet with optional keyboard will be useful for the IGCSE and pre-IGCSE in person classes, but is not needed for the STEM Club.
